CCS Sweeps District Foe Silverdale

The CCS girls and boys basketball team earned district road wins on Tuesday at Silverdale.

The CCS girls led from the start and won 51-39 behind 18 points from Addie Henry and 10 from Kate Dirkse.  CCS led 21-17 at the half but outscored the Lady Seahawks 17-9 in the third quarter.  Silverdale was led by Audrie Canter and Maddie Caldwell with 14 pionts each.  

In the boys game, John Rhodes had 21 points as they held off Silverdale 54-50.  Silverdale pulled out to a 14-5 lead in the first quarter.  CCS cut the lead to 23-21 at the half.  

Rhodes finished with 14 points in CCS fourth quarter run including 9 of 12 free throws.  

Silverdale hit six three pointers.  Ian Johnson had three and led Silverdale with 18 points.

East Ridge Soccer Wins 2-1 Over McMinn County

East Ridge held on to beat McMinn County Friday night in the Ooltewah soccer tournament.   East Ridge led 2-1 at the half.  Rijad Kazic had two goals for East Ridge.  Adam Adem and Lus Padilla had one goal each.  Bryan Alonza had two assists and Erik Lopez had one.   Darian Smith had four saves in the goal for East Ridge who improve to 6-0-1 ... Covenant Baseball Wind 6-3 Over Piedmont

The Covenant men's tennis team continued its roll through the USA South with a 6-3 victory over visiting Piedmont on Friday evening at the Covenant Tennis Complex. The win kept Covenant (10-2, 5-0 USA South) undefeated in conference play and atop the USA South West Division standings.
