The House rickshaw offers free rides around downtown for those that download the app that helps restaurants fill their open tables
The House, a new “where to eat” app for iOS & Android in Chattanooga that launched in March, has over 5,000 residents on the app.

Co-founders, Matt Patterson and Matt Harb, are striving to build a marketplace that brings restaurants and restaurant patrons together that is mutually beneficial to both parties.

The mission of the company is to help restaurants and bars fill their open availability and the app does two things for the restaurant. It showcases the restaurant’s normal specials and happy hours and then it also allows the restaurant operator to create a ‘live offer’ in which they can create a special in real time, decide what food or drink they’re offering and decide how many tables and what times it is eligible for giving the restaurant a real-time option to try and bring patrons in the door, all at their own controls.

Since going live three months ago, The House is working with over 40 restaurant/bar partners in town.  Its radius covers St. Elmo to the Riverside area in Northshore and everywhere in between, although they will be working on expanding that coverage to surrounding areas very soon.

Mr. Patterson said, "We're working on launching our second market, which will be Birmingham. I've been down there a couple of days each week meeting with restaurateurs in preparation for an early July launch.

"We built out this rickshaw or pedi-cab that we'll be using around town at events like Nightfall or sometimes, we'll just have it running around downtown at random times giving away free rides to people who download the app."
