Cleveland/Bradley Chamber Of Commerce Announces New Communications Director

The Cleveland / Bradley Chamber of Commerce announced Joel Henderson as the new Communications director. Mr. Henderson will lead the communications efforts for publications, marketing, promotional strategies, digital communications and media relations. With over 20 years of experience in public relations, business development and marketing strategies, Mr. Henderson has worked within the for-profit workforce and non-profit community to develop and implement nationally recognized best practice communications and collaborative partnerships.

“Joels background and abilities are a great fit with our membersneeds,” said Chamber President and CEO Gary Farlow. “He brings a wealth of experience along with a sincere desire to cultivate relationships and help each of our members achieve the most from their Chamber membership.”

In his most recent position with North American Credit Services as vice president of Corporate Communications and legislative liaison he was recognized by the Public Relations Society of America’s Lookout Chapter and awarded the 2014 Professional Excellence Peer Award.  Additionally, Mr. Henderson’s volunteer leadership was celebrated this spring by the American Cancer Society as a recipient of the 2017 Life Inspiration Award.  He has also served in various leadership roles for the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce including Executive Circle, Membership Committee chair and Ambassador Board president.

“Seeing the value the Chamber provides to our community attracted me to this position,” said Mr. Henderson. “I am honored to work with an amazing team and excited to further highlight all the great opportunities our community has to offer.”

Mr. Henderson resides in Cleveland with his wife of 23 years, Teri (Mote) Henderson, and their daughter, Emma Grace, an eighth grader at Collegedale Adventist Middle School. He and his family love to spend time exploring the great outdoors.

Mr. Henderson succeeds Nancy Neal who retired in June after 25 years of service with the Chamber.

City Files Petition To Turn Confederate Cemetery Over To Sons Of The Confederacy

The city of Chattanooga has filed a petition in Chancery Court asking that management of the Confederate Cemetery be turned over to the Sons of the Confederacy.
