Great Strides Thank You Luncheon Held For Community Members

Lee University on Wednesday hosted a Great Strides Thank You Luncheon to thank community members who helped raised funds and awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Among the many fundraising teams honored, Garden Plaza and Life Care Center of Cleveland were the top team raising over $8,100 through staff and resident fundraisers, bringing this year’s total raised to over $94,000.

Team Garrett’s Amy Ownby, CF parent to two year-old Garrett, raised over $6,000 for CF.

"The Dance of Active Aging" Event For Caregivers Set For Sept. 25

Corey Reynolds, 23, Shot; He Winds Up In Jail

Corey Reynolds, 23, was shot early Sunday morning, and he wound up in jail over the same incident. He was charged with aggravated domestic assault and filing a false report.    The Chattanooga Police responded at 1:49 a.m. to a person shot who arrived at a local hospital.   Reynolds arrived at the hospital in a personally owned vehicle.   His ... Ooltewah Man Sentenced To 20 Years In Prison For Murder Of Son-In-Law

An Ooltewah man was sentenced on Monday to 20 years in prison for the murder of his son-in-law. Glen Donaldson, 57, will have to serve the time at 100 percent under state law. A jury on May 25 found him guilty of second-degree murder in the Dec. 29, 2016, slaying of 39-year-old Adam Levi.  Judge Don Poole called it "a sad, sad case," but he said the evidence showed ... I see now Governor Bredesen is running ads criticizing Rep. Blackburn for her support of the opioid bill. I do not know enough about opioids to offer an educated opinion but I am pretty good in math.
