Bradley County Sheriff Office’s deputies and detectives have arrested a suspect in connection with nine auto burglaries in the Ridgewood subdivision in the northwestern part of Bradley County.

Within 36 hours of the reported burglaries, evidence collected from multiple scenes resulted in detectives arresting Joseph Lee Osterlund, 19, of Cleveland, for his involvement.

Osterlund faces the following criminal charges: nine counts of auto burglary and three counts of theft under $1,000.

Sheriff Watson said, “This arrest is credited to the hard-working detectives in the Criminal Investigations Division who were able to identify, locate, and arrest the suspect the following day once numerous victims reported their belongings stolen. I want to remind residents to take extra time after exiting a vehicle to be sure items of value are not in plain sight and to also double-check all vehicle doors to ensure there locked. Following these simple rules often times will prevent you from becoming a victim.”

Osterlund is still being held in the Bradley County Jail on a $46,000 appearance bond set by Bradley County General Sessions Criminal Court.
