Why Are Drugs So Expensive?

Diabetes seems to affect more people than any other chronic illness. It causes heart disease, liver and kidney failure and blindness. Eventually it is instrumental in the individuals death. 

So why is there no cure? 

Go ahead and call me a conspiracy theorist. 

My fiancée recently started Trulicity. A once weekly self injection to help control blood sugar. 

I looked at the package. Four pre-filled injectors, each containing 1.5 milligrams of medicine, is $785 a month. Follow along: that's 666 doses per gram, $196.25 per dose, there are 28.35 grams per ounce, 16 ounces per pound. So: 666 x $196.25 x 28.35= $3,705,415.80 per ounce X 16 ounces =$59,286,652.00 per pound. 

It's hard to believe anything on earth could cost that much. To buy one ounce of Trulicity, you would need 2,850 ounces of gold at $1,300 an ounce. 

If you were selling this to diabetics, why would you want to cure it?

Ooltewah Man Sentenced To 20 Years In Prison For Murder Of Son-In-Law

An Ooltewah man was sentenced on Monday to 20 years in prison for the murder of his son-in-law. Glen Donaldson, 57, will have to serve the time at 100 percent under state law.
