TDOT To Provide Traffic Control For Recovery Of Tractor-Trailer On I-24 West In Grundy County On Sunday

Friday, September 21, 2018

TDOT Maintenance crews will provide traffic control on Sunday morning, to allow recovery of a tractor trailer that went over an embankment at mile marker 130.5 in Grundy County approximately three weeks ago.

Beginning at 6 a.

m. CDT at Exit 152 (Kimball) in Marion County, TDOT crews will pace traffic with the use of a rolling road block to allow the wrecker company adequate time to recover the tractor-trailer from the embankment at mile marker 130.5 in Grundy County.  The average speed of the rolling road block will be less than 10 M.P.H., so traffic congestion is expected.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol will assist with traffic control.  Additionally, TDOT Queue trucks, overhead Dynamic Message Signs and portable message boards will be used during this recovery work, which is expected to take approximately two to three hours.  If the recovery of the tractor trailer is not complete when the paced traffic arrives at Exit 135 (Monteagle/Tracy City) at approximately 8:15 a.m. CDT, traffic may be reduced to one lane and the work will continue with one lane open.  If for some reason it is determined that the interstate requires a short-term total closure to allow the recovery work to be completed, traffic will be detoured off the interstate at Exit 135 and back onto the interstate at Exit 127. Marion, Grundy and Franklin county emergency and law enforcement personnel have been notified of this event.

This work is weather permitting.  If weather or unforeseen circumstances prevent this work from being done, it will be rescheduled to take place at a later date.

Drink Up, Chattanooga

Roy Exum: The Saturday Funnies

The reviews are good after we initiated “The Funny Video of the Week” but today let me take the liberty of sharing an oldie that I consider the funniest of all time. Please be aware the principals are speaking Polish, which you also need to know makes not a bit of difference. I have watched “The Polish Spoon Trick” at least 50 times because every time I watch the video it makes ... (click for more)
