County Schools Facing Much Higher Water Quality Fee posted November 4, 2009 The city of Chattanooga's steep rise in the water quality fee will not affect county buildings, but will be a blow to the county school budget, County Mayor Claude Ramsey said. Mr. Ramsey said the fee is not charged to county buildings. He said the county schools had been paying over $100,000 and the new charge will be over $400,000. He said the higher amount may be higher when all the county school buildings are computed. Mr. Ramsey said he has talked with Mayor Ron Littlefield about the fee. He said Mayor Littlefield "is aware of the dissension about the fee." |
