Change We Can Finally Believe In - And Response posted November 4, 2009 Change is coming back to America. No matter what the leftist pundits say the governor elections in Virginia and especially New Jersey were partly about the course of this country. While people in New Jersey approved of the President personally their number one concern was the economy. That is all about Obama. His stimulus did not help New Jersey. His three visits to stomp for Corzine did not help him. He lost. So now where do we go? Americans are afraid of this administration. They may like the man as a person but they are afraid of his policies. The Democratic machine could not help Corzine. Everyone in the nation can see what happens when Democrats are in control. The highest property taxes in the nation were in New Jersey. The biggest and most corrupt administration was in New Jersey. The worst economy and one of the highest unemployment rates were all in New Jersey. So what can we learn from these elections? People are going to vote local issues first. Then they will vote against taxes and failed policies. Any way you look at it, it was a partial referendum against Obama and his policies. This is change I can vote for. Good job Virginia and New Jersey. They rest of us will join you in one year. I smell one term Presidency. And when they told us that Obama did not follow the election results, I laughed. He may have been at Hanna Montana but that Blackberry was buzzing all night long. In one year we have the chance to fire all 435 members of Congress. Imagine what that would be like. Oh the joy. Let the spin begin. Johnny Franks seechatt@yahoo.com * * * Conservatives are always wanting less taxes, less government, less everything in the book. What we need is less Obama bashing. He cut our federal income tax by almost half when he first took over. We who pay taxes will remember that. If everyone would give him a chance he would probably make one of our best presidents yet. Look at what he was left to deal with. Who could have done a better job? He has done a very good job so far. He is trying to get health care for everyone. If he gets it passed will the people who are against it refuse to sign up for it? We all know the answer to that. Being black doesn't make him wrong any more than being black would make him right. He is our president, our commander in chief. Bashing him with every letter to Chattanoogan.com isn't going to change anything. Every day you can read the papers and the same people are writing the same things. You only need to publish their names. We already know what they are going to say. There is an old saying, treat a fool like a fool and he will remain a fool. Treat him like something you would like for him to be and he will get better. I know that it's hard to do but we should try anyway. It's a lot easier to pray for someone than it is to cut them down. Max Payne maxpayne@etcmail.com |
