Hart, Dorothy Louise Goodwin (Chickamauga)

Dorothy Louise Goodwin Hart, 75, died on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at her residence, surrounded by her family.

A resident of the Chickamauga area for the past 40 years, she was formerly of Chattanooga, and was a former employee of Hutcheson Home Health where she worked for six years.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Ray Bankston; second husband, Baxter Boyd Hart; parents, Thomas Goodwin and Idella Sullivan; daughter, Regina Faye Shelby; granddaughter, Jamie Bankston; and three brothers, Edwin Goodwin, Donald Goodwin and Stanley “Whizzie” McKinney.

She is survived by her loving children, Kathy (Blane) Justice, of Rossville, Gary (Norma) Bankston, of Bryant, Al., Judy (John) LaPointe, of Rossville, Patricia (Mike) Peterson, of Holt, Fl., and Thomas Austin Bankston, of Chickamauga, Ga.; two sisters, Kitty Maycann, of Chattanooga, and Barbara Hanson, of Chattanooga; three brothers, Huel Goodwin and Benny Goodwin, both of Birchwood, Tn., and Lewis McKinney, of Cleveland, Tn.; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer (Tommy) Hubbard, Jimmy Holmes Jr., Tim Bankston, Melissa (Eric) Henry, Christina (Jason) Wallace, Misty Peterson, Evan Justice, Blair Bankston, Amber Bankston and Billy Holmes; nine great-grandchildren, Zackery Bankston, Hannah and Eli Henry, Aaron, Jacob, and Kaitlyn Mae Wallace, Matthew and Sarah Hubbard and Jaxon Connors; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 9, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ricky Studdard officiating. Interment will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 5-9 p.m., all day on Sunday, and until funeral time on Monday, at the funeral home.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Countryside Hospice of LaFayette, Ga., and her wonderful nurses, Jacquelyn and Beth.

Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
