The city of Chattanooga plans to go to the bond market next Tuesday for $51 million for costs associated with the Volkswagen plant and other projects. City officials said they had been advised it is a good time to go to the bond market because few bonds are currently being issued by entities with a good rating like the city. Pilgrim’s Pride Files For Bankruptcy; To Continue Business

Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation, which has a plant in Chattanooga, voluntarily filed for relief under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code on Monday.
