Hunter Museum Celebrates The Season With Family Fun Day Dec. 3
Monday, November 20, 2017
Children and families from across the region are invited to the Hunter Museum on Sunday, Dec. 3 from 2-4 p.m. for a Family Fun Day special celebration of the holiday season.
Family Fun Day will feature musical and dance performances, holiday story reading, scavenger hunts in the galleries and hands-on arts activities for all ages. In addition to cookie cutter holiday ornaments and thumbprint paintings, guests can create cardboard collages inspired by the larger-than-life cardboard puppets on view in the museum’s current special exhibition Thrill After Thrill: Thirty Years of Wayne White.
"There will be tours of the Thrill After Thrill exhibit and entertainment by GPS dance troupe Terpsichord and local musician Jennifer Daniels, whose always-energetic, kid-pleasing performances invite audience participation. Jolly old elf Santa might even make an appearance at Family Fun Day.
"Finally, guests will have the opportunity to spread seasonal cheer by creating holiday cards for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House while their children are hospitalized during the holiday season. Holiday cards crafted by kids for other kids - what better way to get in the holiday spirit," officials said.
Family Fun Day is sponsored by The Mark Hite team, with refreshments courtesy of Publix Super Market Charities.
Thrill After Thrill: Thirty Years of Wayne White is sponsored by MoonPie, celebrating 100 years.
Admission to Family Fun Day is $15 for adults, and youth 17 and under are free. Admission includes entry to the special exhibition and permanent collection. As always, members are admitted free.
